CASA | Kappa Alpha Theta adopted National CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) as its international philanthropy in 1989. CASA volunteers are trained and speak on behalf of abused and neglected children in court. CASA volunteers research the child’s background details to help the court make a sound decision about the child’s future. Today, there are more than 70,000 advocates serving in more than 1,000 state and local program offices nationwide. CASA programs across the country are known by several different names, including Guardian ad Litem, Child Advocates and Voices for Children. Since the inception of CASA advocacy, volunteers have helped more than 237,000 abused and neglected children find safe, permanent homes in which they can thrive.

Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation | Created by Thetas for Thetas, the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation is dedicated to raising money for scholarships, educational and leadership grants, and financial hardship grants for our Kappa Alpha Theta members.
The Foundation awards more than $1 million dollars annually to its members. Since the Foundation’s establishment in 1960, it has relied on the generosity of individual members, parents, friends of the organization, and college and alumnae chapters to assist in furthering the philanthropic aims of Kappa Alpha Theta. Individual members are encouraged to support the Foundation through annual, major and planned gifts. Alumnae chapters are required to make an annual unrestricted donation to the Foundation and a restricted gift to the Friendship Fund.
In return, the Foundation supports the Fraternity, helping to make the Fraternity’s educational and leadership programs possible through an annual grant. This allows the Fraternity to direct resources to other important programming. The Foundation’s vision is to one day be able to give every Theta every opportunity to make a difference. For this reason, the Fraternity and its members recognize the importance of supporting the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation in promoting our values of highest scholarship and widest influence for good.
You can donate to the Theta Foundation directly through the SF Alumnae Chapter by clicking the “Donate” button below and specifying Theta Foundation in the donation purpose or by sending a check via US Mail. For the most current mailing address, please email us.
